US embassy team meets detained Americans at Adiala

RAWALPINDI: A three-member delegation from the United States embassy was granted consular access to meet three American citizens detained at the Adiala jail under the Foreigners Act.
The delegation, comprising Irfan Jan, Mike Murphy and Raheel Javed, visited the jail facility, where they held an hour-long meeting with the detainees in the office of additional superintendent.
The US citizens granted consular access were Abid Malik, Sadiqa Saeed and Alex Palido. During the meeting, embassy representatives were briefed on the detainees’ conditions and legal matters. The meeting represents a procedural step in line with international diplomatic protocols, allowing consular officials to meet with their citizens held abroad.
