Plan to hike rent ceiling for federal employees prepared
For Grade-21 Islamabad, Rs123,391 ceiling has been proposed and Rs106,660 for other cities
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing and Construction has prepared a plan to increase the monthly rent ceiling of federal government employees.
The ministry has sent the formula for increasing rental ceiling to Finance Division for approval. After receiving its opinion, the ministry will send the summary to the prime minister for final approval.
100 percent increase in rent ceiling of Grade-1 to 10 employees has been proposed while 75pc hike is suggested for employees in Grade-11 to 16, and 50pc for Grade-17 to 22. According to sources, Rs14,058 monthly ceiling has been suggested for Grade-1 and 2 employees of Islamabad and Rs13,182 for other cities. For Grade-3 to 6 employees, rent ceiling for Islamabad is Rs21,960 and Rs19,308 for other cities.
For Grade-7 to 10, Islamabad’s rental ceiling is Rs28,705 and Rs25,693 for other cities. For Grade-11 to 13, Islamabad ceiling is Rs43,302 and Rs37,558 for other cities. Islamabad rent ceiling is Rs54,399 for Grade-14 to 16 and Rs47,884 for other cities.
For Grade-17 and 18, ceiling suggested for Islamabad is Rs61,720 and for other cities Rs53,847. Rent Ceiling of Islamabad is Rs82,056 for Grade-19 and Rs70,224 for other cities. Rs103,050 for Islamabad for Grade-20 and Rs88,618 for other cities.
For Grade-21 Islamabad, Rs123,391 ceiling has been proposed and Rs106,660 for other cities, while for Grade-22 Islamabad rent ceiling is Rs147,666 and Rs133,845 for other cities.
