KMC launches fumigation campaign to prevent vector-borne diseases

Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad on Wednesday inaugurated a fumigation campaign in the city to eliminate flies, mosquitoes and other germ-carrying insects to protect citizens from malaria, dengue, chikungunya and other infectious diseases.
The campaign will target all seven districts of Karachi, with a particular focus on low-lying areas, streams and garbage dumps where mosquitoes are likely to breed. Fumigation will be carried out in the evenings across all districts.
Murad performed the inauguration of the fumigation campaign at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's (KMC) head office. The deputy mayor stressed that the objective of the germicidal spray campaign was to protect the citizens from epidemic diseases.
