PHC CJ inaugurates judicial complex

CHARSADDA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim inaugurated the new Judicial complex in Shabqadar tehsil on Thursday.

Senior puisne judge of the PHC, Justice Ijaz Anwar, district and sessions judge, judicial officers and lawyers were also present on the occasion.During his visit, the chief justice also inaugurated the bar room.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief justice described the day as momentous. He said that he had taken notice of inadequate facilities of litigants in judicial complexes and had directed the planning and development wing of the Peshawar High Court to ensure the availability of litigant’s most needed facilities in future projects.

The chief justice referred to the recent case management initiatives leading to a remarkable reduction of 1,000 cases in the district court’s pendency in three months. The chief justice assured to beef up the court’s security, online access to the law site, the extension of a virtual hearing facility, and favourable consideration of other demands of the bar as per the high court’s policy. Given the heavy pendency of civil cases, the chief justice said that a civil judge should be posted at Shabqadar tehsil, besides the work on judicial complex Tangi should be immediately commenced.
