LAHORE:M Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Khawaja Tareef alias Teefi Butt, one of the main suspects in the Ameer Balaj murder case, was shot dead near the Muslim Town underpass by the unidentified motorcyclists.

Javed’s wife sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to Lahore Services Hospital while his daughter remained unhurt. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Ichhra Police Station. SP Model Town Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar arrived at the scene with a heavy police force to begin an investigation. Police officials have confirmed that Javed Butt's daughter, who was also in the car at the time of the shooting, was unharmed. The investigation into the shooting has been launched, with authorities focusing on the potential motives behind the attack.

The deceased person's body was moved to the morgue at Lahore General Hospital. A large number of people gathered outside Services Hospital and Lahore General Hospital where local police was deployed to maintain law and order. The incident has sent shockwaves in the city people fearing unleashing of gang war. The situation was escalated after the murder of Balaj Tipu during a marriage ceremony in Chung. However, the city remained calm. Few days back, Ahsan Shah, a prime suspect in the murder case of Ameer Balaj, was killed in an encounter. The tragic incident adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation into the Ameer Balaj murder case, where Teefi Butt remained the prime suspect.

Balaj Tipu was killed at a marriage ceremony in a housing society by Muzzafar Hussain, an old gunman of Khawaja Tareef, over a 30-year-old feud. Muzzafar was shot dead immediately after Tipu's murder. Investigations revealed that Ahsan, a close friend of the deceased, had provided critical information to the attackers, facilitating the murder.

In a related development, an audio recording surfaced of Ahsan Shah plotting to murder a police officer while he was in jail. The recording revealed his intentions to leave the country and "take care" of the officer before fleeing.

The Lahore Organised Crime Unit, led by DSP M Ali Butt and DIG Imran Kishwar, is overseeing the investigation. Authorities are also pursuing red warrants for the arrest of the main suspects in the case, Khawaja Tareef (Teefi Butt) and Khawaja Aqeel (Gogi Butt), who have been declared proclaimed offenders.
