S&T Division gets new secretary
Islamabad: Engineer Sajid Baloch, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been appointed secretary to the Science and Technology Division, according to a government notification.
Previously, he served as special secretary to the Cabinet Division, handling matters related to the federal cabinet and regulatory authorities.
With a Master’s Degree in Development and Environment from King’s College London and a degree in Electrical Engineering from NED University as well as a British Chevening scholar, Baloch has three decades of experience in both the public and development sectors, including seven years with the United Nations.
He also served as executive director of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, registrar of the Islamabad High Court, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance, and Director General of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Baloch also worked as deputy permanent delegate of Pakistan to UNESCO in Paris and DG (education).
