Efforts launched to recover kidnapped workers

BANNU: The police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have launched efforts to recover the three employees of a gas company, who were kidnapped a day earlier along with their vehicle in Bakakhel area in the district, a senior police official said on Saturday.
District Police Officer of Bannu Ziauddin Ahmad said an operation was being conducted in various areas in the district to locate the abducted employees of the gas company.
Officials said the CTD Police Station in Bannu registered the first information report of the incident and had launched investigations.
It may be mentioned that unidentified gunmen had kidnapped the three employees of a gas company on Friday. The gunmen also took away the vehicle in which the three persons were traveling. The kidnapped persons were transporting diesel to the gas company.
The kidnappers have also released a video of the abducted persons, who have appealed to the government to secure their release at the earliest.
However, the motive behind the kidnapping remained unclear. The kidnapped persons belonged to Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan.
