Azma’s fake video case: LHC CJ asks FIA under which SOPs X services provided
LAHORE:Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Alia Neelam asked it should be told under which SOPs X services, formerly twitter, were provided in the country.
Chief Justice Alia Neelam heard a petition against the alleged video of Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, in which the lawyers of FIA and the federal government appeared in the court.
The lawyer of the federal government told the court that Twitter has been banned in Pakistan since February 17 and there is no representative of Twitter in Pakistan, ‘we do not have control over the VPN whereas it is a crime.’
The FIA officer said, ‘We have written a letter to the US Embassy’, on which the chief justice said that this letter has been there from day one. During the hearing, the FIA lawyer informed the court about the progress in the case that the accused Muhammad Shafiq has been arrested from Gujarat.
The FIA lawyer said that the video was uploaded on a social media account before it was caught. The Chief Justice remarked that good things are being done on social media and people get benefits, good things should be used but bad things should be stopped. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till August 29, directing the Punjab government and other parties to submit their reply.
