KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum (PPL) has announced the production of oil and gas from a newly drilled well in the Adhi Mining Lease.
In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PPL highlighted its ongoing efforts to increase domestic oil and gas production. The company confirmed production has begun at Adhi South-8, a development well drilled in the Adhi Mining Lease.
PPL operates the well with a 39 per cent working interest, alongside joint venture partners Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oilfield Limited (POL) who hold 50 per cent and 11 per cent working interests respectively.
“Adhi South-8 was successfully drilled to a depth of 3,460 metres and completed as a producer based on encouraging log results. After tie-in of the well with the plant, production from the well has commenced at the rate of 550 barrels per day (bpd) of oil and 0.8 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas at 36/64” choke,” said the notice.
