On the orders of Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Chief Executive Officer Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the water utility has completed all the arrangements regarding Eidul Azha.
According to the KWSC spokesman, effective measures have been taken for water supply and sewerage throughout the city, especially around Eid gatherings, and at mosques, Imambargahs and schools.
The spokesman quoted Ahmed as saying that the officers and other employees of the KWSC would perform their duties despite the Eid holidays, and that all the executive engineers with their subordinate staff and machinery are on high alert to deal with any emergency and facilitate the people. He said water tankers are being provided free-of-charge for all Eid gatherings, mosques and Imambargahs, and government hydrants are being provided for the Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation, the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases and the Sindh government hospitals according to their respective requirements.
He also said the KWSC management is fully cooperating with the district administrations, the elected public representatives, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and the town municipal corporations.
Hydrants Cell incharge Elahi Bakhsh Bhutto is in constant contact with all the departments, and the focal person for the Hydrants Cell, Shahbaz Bashir, is personally supervising all the cell’s arrangements, he added. “Providing better supply and sewerage facilities to the citizens is one of our top priorities.”
