Lyari gang war commander held
Rangers, in a joint raid with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), conducted an operation in Lyari on Friday and arrested a key operative of the Lyari gang war.
The suspect, identified as Amir Jan alias Bablu, was a commander of the Lyari Uzair Baloch group. According to a Rangers' spokesperson, weapons were recovered from the arrested suspect. The spokesperson stated that Jan joined the Lyari gang led by commander Maab Baloch in 2014 and was involved in clashes with rival groups alongside Maab Baloch and Mullah Nisar. The suspect was also involved in extorting traders, firing, and drug trafficking.
Jan, along with his accomplice Rajan alias Raju, had fired shots at the house of Khan Muhammad alias Bhai Jan in the Saifi Lane area of Lyari. The spokesperson mentioned that the suspect could be seen firing in the CCTV footage of the incident.
The CTD had already arrested the suspect's other accomplices, Rajan alias Raju and Bhai Shehryar. Raids were being conducted to apprehend other associates of the suspect. The arrested suspect, along with the recovered weapons, were handed over to the CTD for further legal action, according to the Rangers' spokesperson.
