LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said the Pakistani youth have creative abilities and can surprise the world if provided government patronage.
In a message on the Creativity and Innovation Day on Saturday, she said: “The youth should project their creative abilities by thinking something new, they should explore new ideas and adopt innovation in all aspects of life. Education plays a fundamental role in our creative abilities. The establishment of Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore will not only generate employment opportunities but will also promote creative abilities among the youth. The Punjab government will encourage and welcome creative thinking of youth. Innovation provides creative abilities, exports and employment opportunities.”
She said those countries which made investment in the latest research and development were progressing swiftly on the economic front.
She emphasized that innovation was highly essential for manufacturing products and provision of services to make one’s business profitable. “We can make our products and services acceptable in the international market through creativity and innovation. Creative ability and innovation is the cornerstone of prosperity,” she said, adding: “We need to understand the strength of creative thinking and innovation so as to overcome global challenges, attaining economic progress and carving out a durable future for our country.”
While paying tribute to a constable who was martyred in an encounter with bandits in Baghbanpura, the chief minister Punjab said, “Shaheed Constable Imran Haider has made the Punjab Police proud.” She offered condolences to the bereaved family and said those who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty live forever. Also she directed the best medical aid to injured Constable Dildar.
