KARACHI: Pakistan’s rising golf star Saad Habib is hoping to make his presence felt in the Royal World Junior Championship in Ibaraki, Japan, later this month.
Saad, 18, who recently became the number one ranked player in the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) rankings will be featuring in the prestigious event in Japan to be played from April 19-21.
The talented Saad overtook Qasim Ali Khan as the top-ranked player in the PGF rankings following a series of title-winning triumphs on the national circuit. He also climbed up the ladder in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) and is now placed at No.590.
Saad recorded four consecutive wins in national level tournaments including the DHA Independence Cup, Punjab Amateur 2023, Sindh Amateur 2023, and the 13th Pakistan Junior Championship.
After competing in the event in Japan, Saad will represent Pakistan in the Faldo series Asia Finals in Vietnam from 25th to 27th April. He will also take part in the IMG World Junior Championship at Torrey Pines South, San Diego, California, from 9th to 11th July and the prestigious 76th US Junior Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club, Michigan, from 22nd to 27th July.
