ISLAMABAD: In view of recent terror attacks in different parts of the country, the authorities are beefing up security in the federal capital by establishing 13 new check posts at entry and exit points.
The check posts will have sophisticated video system under integrated mechanism where Civil Armed Forces (CAF), police and other relevant agencies would be deployed on need basis. The new system will be based on complete monitoring to thwart any attempt to disrupt peace of the capital in the wake of recent wave of terrorism.
Highly-placed sources in the federal government told The News that cars with black and tainted glasses wouldn’t be allowed to enter the city since they could pose a security threat. The number plates of entering vehicles would also be thoroughly checked.
While confirming the steps, Inspector General Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan said the new arrangement for security would continue in place and it would also mark the limits of the federal capital. The new check posts will be helpful in monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic.
The key locations identified for these check posts include Sangjani, Chungi No 26 where traffic enters from KP, Rawat, the entry point from Punjab, and Bhara Kahu, entry and exit for Azad Kashmir, and Murree, Abbottabad.
Security check posts will also be established at entry points such as Tarlai, IJ Principal Road, and Tramri Chowk.
