ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take legal action against a construction firm for submitting Rs710 million fake bank guarantee with the authority.
Director Finance of housing authority, Muhammad Kashif, in a letter addressed to FIA said the construction firm was awarded a contract for development of a housing scheme for government employees and Supreme Court Bar Association over an area of 8,000 kanals on the Park Road.
The construction firm, for purpose of receiving mobilization advance, submitted a bank guarantee from a bank branch in Quetta.
The housing authority also received verification from the bank’s branch when it was approached for the purpose.
As a result, the housing authority made Rs716.2 million payment to the construction firm as mobilization advance.
Later, the Federal Secretary for Housing received a written complaint and on checking it was found that the bank guarantee was fake.
The housing authority has also removed Project Director of Park Road Housing Scheme. Mohsin Sardar has been appointed as the new Project Director.
