Hundreds take part in PU sports events
LAHORE:The competitions of cricket, tug-of-war, badminton, table tennis, chess, ludo, athletics, table tennis, football and other sports were held on the third day of Punjab University’s sports week.
Hundreds of students participated in these sports events. The students of all departments also decorated their departments with colorful paraphernalia. PU VC Dr Khalid Mahmood, in a statement, said that the purpose of organising the sports week is to provide students with healthy opportunities for entertainment along with education. He said that sports activities are important to keep students active and energetic. He appreciated Director Students Affairs Dr M Ali Klasara and his team for organising the sports week successfully in all the departments. The male and female sports competitions will continue on Thursday (today) as well.
UVAS Annual Sports Day on 28th
The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore is arranging 20th Annual Sports Day on 28th February, 2024 (Wednesday) in City Campus Sports Ground. Director Sports Board UVAS Rana Amjad Iqbal chaired a meeting of conveners of management committees and reviewed preparations/arrangements for the annual sports day.
The conveners of committees briefed the meeting on the working progress of their respective committees. Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab Muhammad Masood Anwar will be chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Various games, including 800, 200, 100 meter races, shot-put, 4 X 400-meter relay race javelin throw, long jump, triple jump, discuss throw, high jump, three leg race, tug of war, badminton, table tennis and martial arts/gymnastic show, will be played. Students of various departments from UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki, CVAS Jhang, CVAS Narowal, City Campus Lahore, staff and faculty members will participate in these competitions.
