Fake faith healer held with 17 companions for bid to illegally occupy DHA bungalow

The District South police arrested a fake spiritual faith healer along with his associates for attempting to take over a bungalow by force while threatening with death guests who had come to attend a wedding ceremony in a posh locality of the city.

The incident occurred on the wee hours of Friday when a group of armed men allegedly entered the bungalow in DHA Phase VI within the limits of the Darakhshan police station, held the people present in the bungalow hostage at gunpoint and threatened to kill them.

The police received information via Police Helpline Madadgar 15, immediately reached the bungalow and arrested all the suspects.

“We have arrested fake spiritual faith healer Maulana Sufi Jameel and his 17 associates and security guards from the bungalow during the raid,” SHO Kaleem Khan Moosa confirmed while talking to The News.

“Maulana Sufi Jameel is a professional fake spiritual faith healer who deceives people, especially those from the elite class, with his magical claims and operates with a gang. He takes over people’s homes/bungalows using force.”

The officer said the police received information through the police helpline that some people had barged into a bungalow and were threatening the residents with death, attempting to evacuate the bungalow forcibly.

“When we reached the scene, the occupants of the bungalow were very frightened and the police took action by apprehending those intending to evacuate the bungalow, and registered a case against them,” SHO Moosa said. In response to a question, he said that at the time of the incident, there were about 15-20 individuals present in the bungalow who were dual nationals and had come to Pakistan maybe from the US to attend a relative’s wedding ceremony.

The officer mentioned that since the individuals were quite frightened, the police did not want to disturb them further and hence registered the case based on their complaint. The SHO further stated that two rifles and two pistols were found on the suspects. An FIR was registered on the complaint of state against Maulana Sufi Jameel and his 17 companions at the Darakhshan police station.
