Emilia Clarke recently revealed how it felt when she did not secure an Emmy Award for her performance in Game of Thrones despite being nominated four times.

For those unaware, Clarke played the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the famous fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO.

In her recent interview with Variety, the 39-year-old English actress articulated her thoughts by saying, “I'm embarrassed to admit that not winning an Emmy was a really significant thing."

When the show had wrapped at the Microsoft Theater, she thought, “Everyone's over ‘Game of Thrones' now — you're old news.”

Notably, Clarke defied death when she was working on the show, as she shared that she “cheated death” after surviving two brain haemorrhages.

“I was just convinced that I had cheated death and I was meant to die. Every day, that's all I could think about,” the Terminator 5 star quipped when she showed up on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast.

It is pertinent to mention that Clarke had her brain haemorrhage soon after she was done shooting for the first season of Game of Thrones. She lost consciousness while working out at a gym in London.

“The closest thing to describe it is imagine an elastic band just snapping around your brain. This insane pressure,” she recalled.

Emilia Clarke’s suffered a second aneurysm while living in New York and performing in a Broadway play. Her doctors have been monitoring the aneurysm through regular scans after spotting it during treatment for the first hemorrhage.
