Election 2024: Ballots printing to run from Jan 14 to Feb 3
Process of printing would be completed till Feb 3, and ECP would deliver to every district under supervision of army
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to start printing of ballot papers [Form 33], containing the candidates’ names, along with their electoral symbols, for National Assembly (NA) and four Provincial Assembly (PA) elections from Sunday, January 14.
The process of printing the ballot papers would be completed till February 3, and after that the ECP would deliver those ballots to every district under the supervision of Pakistan Army.
Ballot papers for candidates from Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and central and north Punjab will be printed at the Pakistan Printing Corporation (PCP), Islamabad, and Pakistan Post Office Foundation Press, Islamabad. However, the ballot papers for NA and PA candidates from some districts of south Punjab, entire Sindh and Balochistan provinces would be printed at the Security Printing Corporation of Pakistan, Karachi. All ballot papers would be printed on special paper, containing security features, similar to the currency notes.
The entire printing work would be carried out under the supervision of the army, and its personnel would remain present at every press during the printing process.
Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja had prohibited the printing of ballot papers by any private printing press, after holding consultation with each member of the Election Commission of Pakistan of the four provinces.
