FGEHA approves reopening of membership for G-12, F-12 sectors
During the meeting, a proposal was moved to increase the price of one kanal plot from Rs30 million to Rs40.5 million
ISLAMABAD: The Executive Board of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has approved the reopening of membership for sectors G-12 and F-12 and a review to fix the price of plot. Citizens were asked to move fresh applications to buy plots in these sectors as the price was likely to increase. This approval was given during the meeting headed by the Federal Secretary of Housing and Construction Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash. The meeting was told that applications were invited for plots under the quota of overseas Pakistanis and the general public in G-12 and F-12 and its last date was October 10. Some 15 percent quota was reserved for overseas Pakistanis and 20 percent for the general public. However, the price of plot was fixed in haste, which was low. The board directed to review the price and fix it again.
During the meeting, a proposal was moved to increase the price of one kanal plot from Rs30 million to Rs40.5 million. However, the final price will be fixed after working. It was also decided that an applicant not interested in buying a plot due to price increase will be authorised to withdraw his or her registration fee. It was also decided to publish an advertisement for new membership.
The meeting approved tenders for three closed residential projects — Chaklala Heights Rawalpindi, Skyline New Airport and Kashmir Avenue G-13. It was told that old contractors had refused to carry out work due to an increase in the cost of construction material, therefore, an agreement to end work with them was reached and the board gave approval in this regard.
The board directed the early completion of these projects. It said that new tenders should be invited in such a manner that the allottees could get a subsidy and employees faced little financial burden.
The board has also approved auction of 19 commercial plots in G-13/3, G-14/3 and G-14/4 besides a petrol pump in the Mauve area in G-13. During the meeting, approval was also given to hire an audit firm for the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority.
