The police’s Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) claimed on Monday to have killed a notorious criminal in an encounter near Chakar Hotel within the limits of the Site Superhighway police station.
According to ACLC officials, the deceased suspect, Iftikhar, was wanted by the Sindh and Punjab police in several cases of car thefts. Twenty-one cases were registered against him in Gojra, Sahiwal, Khanewal and Mian Channu, while he was also involved in multiple incidents of stealing and snatching cars in Karachi. A stolen car and weapons were recovered from the suspect's possession. The police were looking for his accomplice who was on the run.
