An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has directed the superintendent of the Central Jail Karachi to submit a report on an application of the outlawed Peoples Aman Committee chief Uzair Baloch seeking the renewal of his CNIC.
The alleged Lyari kingpin, who is facing trial in over a dozen cases pertaining to murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion and encounters with law enforcers, submitted an application to the ATC-VI judge.
Baloch said his family wants to perform Umrah, for which they need his CNIC for the issuance of their passports. He, therefore, pleaded with the judge to issue directives to the superintendent of the central prison to make arrangements for renewal of his CNIC. The court then summoned a report on his application.
