At least 11 people were injured after the roof of a factory collapsed in the Korangi area on Sunday.
The incident occurred in PMT Colony in Korangi. Upon receiving the information, police and rescue workers reached the site and retrieved the people trapped under the debris.
The injured persons were identified as Kamran, 18, son of Mumtaz; Ali Dino, 20, son of Ali Nawaz; Sajjad, 25, son of Ramzan; Iftikhar, 45, son of Abdul Majeed; Abbas, 25, son of Gul Hassan; Shamshad, 20, son of Umer; Ghaffar, 23, son of Ali; Intizar, 42, son of Ayub; Piran, 18; Ashiq, 25; and Abdul Quddus, 35.
Police said the incident took place at a rusk making factory. They added that not many workers were present at the factory due to Sunday when the roof suddenly collapsed. Further investigations are under way.
