HYDERABAD: The court of the second civil judge and judicial magistrate issued a reserved judgment on an application on Saturday and cancelled bail of police constable Mir Hasan, who allegedly tortured a female passenger on the Millat Express.

A week ago, the court had reserved is judgment on the request of the Railway Police seeking revocation of the bail of Mir Hasan, who is facing charges to torturing Maryam Bibi.

The autopsy report later showed that her death occurred due to excessive bleeding after her head hit the ground after she had been thrown off the train.

She was a resident of Jaranawala Tehsil of Faislabad and living in Karachi. The Bahawalpur district police registered an FIR against employees of Railway Police on the complaint of the brother of the deceased.

On Saturday, the court cancelled cop’s bail and allowed the Railway Police to arrest him. It said in the judgment that the accused had been granted bail without fulfilling the requirements of merit.

According to the judgment, the judges were on Eid vacations at the time the bail was granted. The special judge had granted the bail without hearing the arguments of the railway prosecutor.

Mir Hasan did not appear in the court on Saturday, due to the fear of arrest.

The Railway Police had filed a petition for the cancellation of the bail of the accused for his non-cooperation in the investigation and to undergo medical tests.
