Ed Sheeran shares secret behind ‘exciting’ career
Ed Sheeran plans to celebrate a decade of 'x' album's success with anniversary edition
Ed Sheeran never fails to captivate his fans with new music and collaborations.
During an interview with Billboard, the Perfect hitmaker opened up about the key factor that attracts music fanatics to his new beats.
"It’s important to never do the same thing twice," he revealed the secret essence of his music-making journey, which has garnered millions of Sheerios — the singer’s fandom name — since his debut in early 2011.
"Musically, I’m always like, 'Have I said this before? Has a song sounded like this before?'" the Shape of You chart topper elaborated, "It’s less about what other people are doing, and more about what I’ve already done and constantly doing something different."
Here’s a brief account of Sheeran’s albums. After the singer-songwriter independently released the extended play No. 5 Collaborations Project, he released his first album, + (Plus), in September 2011, which had his first hit single, The A Team.
Sheeran released his second album, x (Multiply), three years after his debut album. It includes hit tracks Thinking Out Loud, Don’t, and Sing.
Since his massively successful sophomore album, Sheeran never slowed down a bit.
He completed his mathematical equation of albums with 2017’s ÷, 2021’s = and 2023’s - (Minus), as well as his 2019 collabs album No. 6 Collaborations Project and his most recent release, Autumn Variations.
Additionally, Sheeran, 33, will release x (10th Anniversary Edition) on June 21. The extended version of the 2014 album will commemorate a decade of publication of x.
