ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Sunday his party, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), believes in democracy and in the past, it had faced great hardships for the cause of democratic rule in the country.
Speaking at a function organised by the Pakistani diaspora in Tokyo, Bilawal said Pakistan and Japan had the potential to increase bilateral trade in diverse sectors for mutual benefit.
The foreign minister said both countries could benefit from investment in agriculture and livestock. He said the coalition government in Pakistan was working on economic diplomacy to bring prosperity. Pakistan could learn from Japan’s advancement in information technology and other fields.
The FM said that during his meeting with Japanese leadership and entrepreneurs, he would urge them to facilitate trade and increase investment in Pakistan. Pakistan had over 65 per cent population of youth and the country could exploit this human resource through skills-based education and training.
Bilawal urged overseas Pakistanis, particularly businessmen, to play their role for an increase in trade between the two countries and for also strengthening the bilateral relations.
