NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved Saqlain Sajib and Shuvagata Hom as replacements for Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed in Bangladesh men’s squad taking part in the World Twenty20 in India.
Arafat and Taskin were suspended on Saturday from bowling in international cricket after independent assessments revealed that their bowling actions were illegal.
In line with ICC’s event-time policy, the side losing a player due to an illegal bowling action is allowed a replacement.
Saqlain, 27, is a left-arm spinner who is yet to make his T20I debut, while 29-year-old Shuvagata is an all-rounder who has played two T20Is. Bangladesh lost to Pakistan on March 16.
