It has always been said that music is the language of feeling and passion,

Music

It has always been said that music is the language of feeling and passion, as words are the language of reason. The art of music is divine and it has the ability to uplift one’s mood. And if it is live music than nothing can be compared to the experience of listening to a band perform live. So, all you music lovers out there, the Grand Finale of Pepsi Unplugged was held recently. Yes, that is right! By now we all know that Pepsi Unplugged was a series of invitation-only events introduced by Hasan Rizvi CEO-BodyBeat Group for the revival of music. Unplugged has hosted a few unforgettable concerts over the past year and they truly outdid themselves with their bigger and better last edition. This event had the rock star theme, which started off with a star-studded blue carpet where many celebrities were spotted including Imran Abbas, Farhad Humayoun, Junaid Khan, Mahira Khan, Momal Shiekh, Ali Saleem, Nadya Mistry, Beenish Pervaiz, Rachel Viccaji, Shanaz Ramzi, Muzna Ebrahim and many more.

This time around the concert did not have one but four acclaimed female artists. The powerhouse of vocalists included Zoe Viccaji, Quratulain Baloch, Sanam Marvi and Komal Rizvi.

The first performance was by Sufi singer Sanam Marvi who started off the evening with some of our favorite numbers including, ‘Lagi bina raan na jagy koi’, ‘Sigraaa aawen sanwal yar’, ‘Wehray aa warh meary’, ‘Mai tan koi khyal’, ‘Lal meri pat’ and many more. She surely gave an entertaining performance and made the audience dance to her tunes.

The next performer that took the stage was our very own Zoe Viccaji who added the jazz flavour to the evening with her fantastic song selection. She sang, ‘Ishq Kinara’, ‘Raat Gaye’, ‘Bichara Yaar’, ‘Jaanay Do’, ‘Azad’ and ‘Mercy’. The third artist was Komal Rizvi who blew the audience away with her mash-ups of English, Urdu, Sufi and Hindi tracks. Her song set included ‘Washmallay’, ‘Dannay pe danna’, ‘Adele Mashup’, ‘Mahi yaar di’, ‘Ghoom Charakda’, ‘London thumda’ etc. Last but not least was Quratulain Baloch with her unbelievable stage presence and performance skills. She was definitely the perfect choice for closing performance of the Grand Finale of Pepsi Unplugged. She performed songs like ‘Aye Khuda’, ‘Ankhain nu rehn day’, ‘Inteha hogyi’, ‘Tere Isqh Nachaya’, ‘Ik tara/kabeera’ and of course the OST of drama serial Humsafar. People were seen dancing and singing along with the singer and we all just wished the night would never end.

The fact is that the grand finale was one unforgettable evening and we sure hope that Bodybeat brings more of such musical ventures in the New Year as well!
