Every season brings with it various trends and of course, we have to keep up with the ever changing styles. When we talk about parties and formal dinners we need to look our best, which means flaunting a stylish and elegant outfit and makeup that will complement the attire. So, this week You! shares some tips on how to dress up and carry off a glamorous evening look...
Let’s play dress up:
There is this party coming up and you still haven’t decided on what to wear? Well, fret not. You can choose any type of fabric you want and embellish it just the way you like it. For evening wear the best fabrics to go for are pure chiffons and silks. And when we talk about cuts you can opt for flowy dresses as well as straight cuts. How you carry yourself makes all the difference. The colours to opt for include shades of pink, beige, black and gold. You can easily mix and match these colours with a contrasting hue. Now the next part is the embellishments.
Crystal clear: This season is all about crystal work, so make sure you give your outfit a stylish look. You can go for a high-neck collar with crystals and sequins to add some shimmer. If you are selecting a pink hue fabric then embellish it with black. This will surely look very chic.
Go bold: If you are bold enough to carry this look then you should opt for peacock feather embellishment in resham. Incorporating sequins will add that oomph to your attire. Keeping in mind the real feather of the peacock, opt for gold or beige pure chiffon with a flowy silhouette as bright blues and greens look gorgeous on a light hue.
A touch of west: If you are more into western outfits then a classy evening gown is the way to go. And because there will be a lot of volume then go simple with your dress. A heavily embellished gown can look disastrous so choose a brooch with lots of diamantes.
Simple & chic: When talking about formals and semi-formals, how can we forget kaftans? A kaftan has a simple yet elegant cut and never goes out of style. Select a fabric in three tones. Make sure you choose a combination that complements each other. Because this cut is so modern yet chic, just embellish the neckline with crystals and stones.
Lace factor: The combination of gold and black can never go wrong so add some black lace to your gold outfit. Opt for a boat neck that is slightly embellished with stones. And you are all set to go.
Colour me pretty!
Once you are done with your outfit, it is time for some makeup. For a radiant, glamorous effect, evening makeup should be deep and sophisticated.
Classy makeup: Evening makeup is all about keeping the emphasis on the eyes and lips. Go for a dark grey classic smokey eye makeup and bright pink lips. Flushed cheeks is one of the loveliest trends this season. Soft and cute flush is recommended for both evening makeup. A lot of cheek stains are available in the market and online as well which give that perfect look.
Nude eyes: If you feel your outfit is a little on the heavier side then it is always good to go light on your makeup. Keep your eyes subtle and go for a bold lip shade. All you have to do is apply some gold shimmer on your eyelids and put on lots of mascara and end it with preferably a red lip colour that suits your complexion.
Cat-eye makeup: For those who want to add a little drama and flirty touch to their looks can opt for the cat-eye makeup. This is the best way to add dimension to your eyes and complete your evening makeup. You can easily create cat-eye makeup with eyeliner or you can also combine dark eye shadow hue with eyeliner for a more spectacular look. For the lips you can choose a bold or a light lip colour.
Tress talk:
No look is complete if you haven’t styled your hair well. These days, updos, chignons and braids are very much in fashion. And for an evening out these styles look just perfect. If you want to let your hair loose then go for a voluminous blow-dry. Voila you are all set to flaunt your style.
Accessorise well:
Any look is incomplete without the right accessories. Always choose your accessories - jewellery, bag and shoes - that match your outfit. With beige go for gold or nude accessories. With black you can easily experiment with gold and silver. And make sure you don’t wear heavy pieces of jewellery if you have a heavily embellished outfit.
