1. With the New Year approaching and since it has been a long time spent either at home, on digital platforms…we have brought out a new collection called ‘Connected’. This includes simple yet stylish cuts and colour for you to manage day to day – the new cuts and colour have short, medium and long lengths to suit all face shapes and hair textures. Our prediction for this year will be lots of layers as outgrown hair has become the trend, with fringes changing the shape of the haircut. We foresee that colour will be bold and vibrant as the New Year approaches to exit from the continuous isolation.

2. Anyone’s guess, anything goes. Naturally, you need to beat the heat in Karachi in the summer. Most hair will be tied up, and a lot of hair bands and accessories will be used to keep the hair off your face.

3. If we come out into a normal 2021, then hopefully big blow dries, very stylised hair, highlighted hair and hairdos.

4. Because your skin is the largest organ in your body, every aspect of our lives factors into keeping our skin healthy. Your skin, if it’s acting out, could be trying to tell you something like your diet is unhealthy and is causing you to break out. Furthermore, if you aren’t getting enough sleep, your skin appears to look dull and tired. The best recommendation to maintain great skincare would be to adopt a healthy lifestyle including a balanced diet, regular exercise and 8 hours of sleep each night. With regard to the product you use in your skincare regime, I would advise you stick to natural products suited to your skin-type. I swear by the philosophy of Ayurveda and only use Ayurvedic and organic products on my skin.

5. With masks becoming the ‘new normal’, we can predict that the lip hues will be bare minimal, sticking to nudes and browns.

1. I think bangs will be back with a bang! Mini fringes and close pixie cuts, lot of movement and textured layers with ’70s inspired long feathered fluffy look and soft curved, cheekbone and blunt textured bobs.

2. Summer hair will be sculpted and gelled with severe side part. Also we would see wet-look hair, beachy waves. There would be graphic eye makeup with kohl rimmed eyes.

3. Applying foundation in layers and heavy contouring is a complete no this season. Instead glowy shiny skin is going to be in, with flushed cheeks. Sultry maroon, gold, bright blue, metallic shades. Or matte eye shadows with metallic gold or silver inner corners. Pearly white and silver ombre shadows or may be just perked up statement brows.

4. I would suggest drinking lots of water and fresh fruit and veggie juices will bring a glow to the skin and will hydrate and reduce aging lines and wrinkles. I would recommend maintaining a daily cleansing, toning and moisturising routine using the right products for your skin type to combat acne, open pores, dryness and aging. Use a silk pillow to prevent wrinkles. Make sure to clean your makeup brushes regularly to avoid clogged pores and skin infections. Use sunscreen throughout the year not only in summer. Use serums and creams containing vitamins C to nourish the skin. Exfoliate face and body at least twice a week to get rid of dead cells that make skin look sluggish and sullen. Maintain a healthy diet add nuts flaxseeds and greens.

5. With colour trends of dark roots, copper and Auburn strands, chocolate brown, creamy highlights or face framing hollow highlights and of course blond highlights are the trends this season. As for the lips, pouty red lips, deep berry, fuchsia pink, taupe, violet, nude, and even metallic and two-toned lipsticks will be the trend this year!

1. We took great care of our skin in 2020 and we were trying a lot of beauty tips and tricks. No-makeup look will continue as a favourite. But lots of metallic eye shadows like the ’80s as ’80s is back and obviously the emphasis is on the eyes due to the masks. A lot of eye makeup like smoky and metallic and different ways of using liners, kohl pencils and coloured eye pencils will work.

2. It would be peachy and pinky as always due to the heat in Karachi. Lots of pastels and minimal makeup will be seen.

3. Winter is going to be more metallic with bold lips as throughout the year people have missed the berry and bold red lips, they can use that in the winter.

4. In 2020, we all realised the importance of good skin especially with the skin acne so we have investigated in skin regimes. A good facewash, a good sun block, a good night cream and a toner is the basic things I think everyone should invest in for 2021.

5. For lips, oxblood red, fuchsia pinks or some metallic tones or no lipstick look. For hairstyles, as the ’80s are back, 2020 was about blunter straight hair, layering, shaggy hairstyle, beachy hair, messy hair and no blow-dries, very low maintenance hairstyle.

1. There will be an emphasis on minimum makeup; it would be soft and natural. The ‘less is more’ in makeup trends that began last year is going to continue in 2021. Due to facemasks, the focus will be on eye makeup.

2. I would recommend using water-based foundation for the face. Eyes will be enhanced.

3. The winter look for 2021 will be heavy eye makeup.

4. Spend at least 15-20 minutes on using cleanser cream, moisturiser, and olive oil and massage the skin. Wipe makeup off with clean cotton-pads especially mascara and all.

5. I predict we will be going into curls, recently in India, curly hair is also in fashion. I would recommend using Keratin treatment for hair. Pakistanis also look very hot with curly hair. For lips as we would be wearing masks, I would think matte lips, those with dry and buttery texture would work best without staining the mask.

(Makeup Artist)

1. I think we would focus a lot more into skincare itself. Makeup this year will continue to be celebratory, a way to cheer us up.

2. I would say there would be brighter, matte lipsticks and minimal tones as it would be very hot.

3. The winter tone as is would be moodier. The eyes would be deeper, darker, denser colour palette and contouring. It’s all about darker colours for lips, pinks, burgundy and emerald green.

4. There should be a few nice products that are skin-specific from person to person and the routine should be for both morning and night skin.

5. I have discussed lip hues above but for hair I would say go for simpler styles as styling hair would be not that popular as we continue to stay home.
