Lamb is a delicious sign of spring. From roasts and chops to stews and comforting braises, lamb has something to offer everyone at the table. So, it’s not surprising that a holiday favourite has to be lamp chops. There are many ways you can prepare this delicious meat and enjoy it with friends and family. This week You! collaborates with cooking expert, Lubna Shariff, who brings you her recipe for Lamp Chops. Happy eating!

Ingredients

Lamb chops 3-4

Garlic & ginger paste 1/2 tbsp

Red chilli according to taste

Salt to season

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Egg 1

Breadcrumbs as required

Oil as required

Spinach (boiled) 1/2 cup

For Cheese sauce

Cheese (shredded) 1 1/2 cup

Butter 2 tbsp

Milk 1 cup

Flour 2 tbsp

Salt & pepper for seasoning

Method

  • Boil the lamb chops with the garlic ginger paste and all the spices.
  • Just when they are tender, remove and pat them dry.
  • Dip the chops in egg, coat with breadcrumbs and fry.
  • For the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; whisk flour into butter until smooth. Pour milk into butter mixture and stir with a wooden spoon to combine. Cook and stir until mixture thickens, about 3 minutes. Add Cheddar cheese and stir until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with cheese sauce mixed with spinach on the side.
