you & me

Juniad Akhtar’s lucky stars brought him to showbiz when he was performing at a local university where the seasoned and the most senior actor, Shahzad Raza, was invited as the chief guest. After the show, Junaid approached Shahzad and expressed his desire to become an actor and sought his advice. Shahzad appreciated his talent and recommended him to director, Kamran Qureshi, for a serial and he eventually made his acting debut with ‘Abhi Door Hai Kinara’. His friends motivated him to try modeling as well for which he agreed to do commercials and met Ajmal Murad who found him a complete package of talent, energy, good height, alluring physique and good looks. His first ad was for Olpers where he worked with super model, Iffat Umar, in 2009. While he was doing BBA, Imtiaz Fakhri gave him his much deserved break with the ad of Pakola Cupcake and later he was roped in several other commercials for Oxford, Cotton & Silk, Dalda, Rexona, Vigo Tel Mobile, Vital Soap etc.

With TV serials like ‘Choti Si Kahani’, ‘Ye Zindagi Hai’, ‘Zindagi Terey Bina’, ‘Janey Kuun’, ‘Koi Nahin Apna’, ‘Na Mehram’, ‘Kitna Satatey hoo’, ‘Ghuttan’, ‘Dewana’, ‘Faraib’ and ‘Ek Pal’, Junaid is a force to be reckoned with.

The actor is now all set to venture in to movies with his debut film ‘Pari’, in which he is playing the main lead opposite, Azeeka Daniel. Let’s get to know about Akhtar’s likes & dislikes in this week’s You & Me...

My biggest asset:

Family, my roots and the values I own.

My strength:

My seniors, who are the source of inspiration and learning.

Something I am strongly possessive about:

My freedom and my space

When feeling low I prefer:

Listening to good music that helps me recuperate my energy.

I wish I could:

Be in a position to deliver positivity and bring a tangible change.

I get dejected:

When I see poor people.

I regret:

Nothing.

My worst nightmare:

To lose the respect I have achieved.

If I could be another person, I would like to be:

Myself.

Something I would like to forget:

My failures.

Something I would like to remember:

My first commercial

I get turned on by:

Beauty!

Something I dislike about myself:

My laidback attitude.

Something I like about myself:

My patience.

Are you a social person or a loner?

Social.

My idea of romance:

Exotic beaches and candle light dinners.

What touches me the most?

Kindness.

What bores me the most?

Communicating with two-faced people.

The most unforgettable moment of my life was...

My first day of shoot at my debut serial with senior actor, Sadia Imam.

My message;

Life is short. Enjoy it!
