We can’t believe it, but another Bridal Couture Week has come to a close. This year was a bit different, as designers began to finally show their collections in person after two years of virtual appointments and runways. As we returned to normalcy, we also experienced a new batch of remarkable looks, from both renowned designers and emerging brands who are making a name for themselves within the bridal wear space.

Brands like Fahad Hussayn, Haris Shakeel and Rizwan Beyg among others, showcased jaw-dropping bridal lehengas paying homage to traditional trends that will forever be here to stay within wedding fashion. We also continued to see a surge of contemporary designs like shalwar kameez, colourful ghararas, and modern separates. But even with a diverse range of styles presented this season, one common theme we can surely agree on is that the bridal industry has openly embraced change. There are more looks now, than ever before, that cater to brides of all aesthetics.

Ahead are the top trends from the bridal 2023 collections. For those currently engaged and searching for the perfect wedding look, be sure to take notes…

Zonia Anwaar’s collection ‘Maysa’ has been made to ensure that each piece is an heirloom that can be enjoyed and adorned by generations to come. This vibrant and youthful lehenga choli is perfect for any occasion or your very own special day!

Designer Mehdi’s collection ‘Freedom’ takes its inspiration from sub-continental traditions and master craftsmanship paired impeccably with dewy makeup and traditional jewellery. Borrowing tones textures and splashes of subtle colours from desert landscapes and its inhabitants; the silhouette of a sweeping sand dune, the warmth of an idyllic sunset and a personal journey towards the oasis.

Umsha by Uzama Baber showcased her collection ‘Dilkash’ which has roots in Arabic origin and reflects its essence in the irrefutable beauty of creation. Featured here, this light tea pink dress withholds intricate elements of heavy sequins, handwoven and kundan zari detailed pearl embellishments.

BRIDAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Shoaib Ismail’s ‘Shehar Bano’, inspired by the magnificent style of a royal family paying homage to the grace and charm of Shehr Bano, daughter of Ali Adil Shah. Embellished motifs with kundan zari makes this ensemble the perfect choice for the wedding guest. Pair it with white pearl jewellery to complement the black outfit and nude makeup to complete the look.

BRIDAL EXTRAVAGANZA

A tribute to the amazing rural women artisans whose skill-set speaks volumes of their hard work and dedication despite being mothers, daughters and wives, is Rizwan’s Beyg collection ‘Jashn’. Complementing this ensemble, Mehreen Siddiqui, has a clean and neutral makeover – peachy blush, nude lips and smokey golden eyes along with emerald green jewellery adds a unique touch to the gold coloured lehenga.

BRIDAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Accentuating Sadaf Kanwal’s wheatish skin, the red monotone attire suits her well along with the simple smudged liner and bushy brows which brings out her eyes. Adorning Ali Haider’s collection ‘Bazgha’, Sadaf displays mysterious and glamorous vibes. The attire encapsulates the rich culture and craftsmanship that is unique to Pakistan.

BRIDAL EXTRAVAGANZA

A perfect blend of classic and traditional motifs with contemporary silhouettes, Maha Wajahat Khan’s collection ‘Ranjhnaa’ revives the concept of Pakistan’s rich culture and heritage. The model here is adorned in a traditional long kameez with a lehenga, paired with an organza dupatta.
