MY TEENAGE YEARS

What does success mean to you?

Success, to me, is hard work without giving up and accepting failure as source of learning.

Something you learned early in your career?

Keep learning to become a better actor. Understanding the script and your role fully is the key to portray the character well.

The most challenging thing about this career?

Dealing with nepotism.

Your role model actors/actresses, and what you like about them?

Sajal Ali, Feroze Khan, Brianne Howey and Henry Cavill. I like their work because they know how to sync into the characters and perform effortlessly.

Which of your roles was the most meaningful to you, and why?

I believe acting is about being flexible towards any kind of character. I like to do challenging characters like my role as Major Joggzai in my upcoming movie Dhaai Chaal.

Do you believe good looks and connections are the only things that make a star?

No, they do play a part but not the major one. Success depends on your passion, struggle, hard work and your willingness to accept challenges.

How do you deal with self-doubt?

I counsel myself and spend a large chunk of time with myself. Self-doubts are sometimes good as you can really explore yourself and learn to perfect yourself.

Three pieces of advice for aspiring actors.

1-Never give up!

2-Do what you really want to and stop worrying about what people think.

3-Always believe in yourself.
