Theatre director Shah Sharabeel, who has some credible musical adaptations such as Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera and Bombay Dreams to his name, recently made a comeback with an Urdu musical called Twins Apart.

Inspired from Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers, it is his sixth musical that had a strong run at the Karachi Arts Council earlier this year. The play is all set to open in the capital city tonight.Starting from April 4, Twins Apart that follows the lives of twin brothers will run at PNCA Auditorium, Islamabad till April 14.

Separated at birth, the twin brothers – Moosa and Isa – end up in completely different circumstances in terms of social class. When they learn about the relation they share, they are forced to part ways as fate had decided something else for them.

Produced by Stage Nomad, the 2 hours and 10 minute-long theatre production is a light hearted comedy with a flavor of action and romance. The dance sequences and songs add colour to the narrative that has drama, emotion and wit. After the Islamabad run, it is scheduled to head to Lahore later this month – where it will go on till May.
