People residing in Karachi can rejoice as the 11th Aalmi Urdu Conference is coming to the city of lights on November 22 and aims to celebrate the national language. With a focus on Urdu literature, poetry, prose and plays, the four-day event will be a showcase of a fair share of arts and literature for attendees.
The upcoming 11th Aalmi Urdu Conference has an impressive line-up of speakers, both from Pakistan and abroad. It will feature a diverse form of the arts including music and dance performances, theatrical acts, mushaira, book fairs, documentaries, book launches, exhibitions, and open house sessions among other things.
Those who are expected to grace the event include playwright Anwar Maqsood, seasoned artist Zia Mohyeddin, Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, Pirzada Qasim and many others. Yousuf Bashir Qureshi will be reading Jaun Elia while Anwar Maqsood will have a satirical session with the audience.
The conference will run from November 22 till November 25 at the Karachi Arts Council.
