Three big-banner Pakistani films, Load Wedding, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and Parwaaz Hai Junoon released earlier this week (Eid ul Azha) and all of them opened to decent numbers at the local box office. However, Nadeem Baig’s sequel to Jawani Phir Nahi Ani that stars an ensemble cast including Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Mawra Hocane, Kubra Khan and others, is leading the game, followed by Parwaaz Hai Junoon and Load Wedding, respectively.
According to Box Office Detail, JPNA2 raked in a total of 3.23 crore on its opening day and broke all previous records including that of Teefa in Trouble which was leading the list so far. Haseeb Hassan’s air force film Parwaaz Hai Junoon earned 1.79 crore on the first day while Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat-starrer Load Wedding collected 90 lacs.
With Teefa in Trouble that has collected over 30 crore in Pakistan still going strong (in its fifth week), four Pakistani films are currently running in cinemas across Pakistan and beyond. These films that belong to four different genres have had an international release as well and they are being received well among masses from all over the world. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 is a romantic comedy, Parwaaz Hai Junoon follows the personal and professional lives of air force officers, Nabeel Qureshi’s Load Wedding talks about society’s obsession with marriage whereas Ali Zafar-starrer Teefa in Trouble is an action comedy.
