While the much awaited Air Force movie, Parwaaz Hai Junoon, was scheduled to release on Eid ul Fitr, news started doing the rounds that the film’s release has been delayed due to a legal matter. According to reports, the wardrobe stylist of the film, Soomar Rehman, sued the production house for not giving him credit for his work in the teasers that were released last month. But that can hardly be the cause for concern and delay.

Moreover, there is speculation that Parwaaz Hai Junoon is not being released on the given date as it is not completed as yet. However, producer of the film Momina Duraid denies all such claims. “There are 6 Pakistani films coming on Eid ul Fitr and it’s a reason of concern for all the producers,” Momina Duraid told Instep. “It will be difficult for six films to make a mark even if they are released together. Ideally someone should take the step of pulling back in the interest of the entire industry and this is currently being discussed and pondered upon by all of us,” she added.

“I am seriously considering moving the release date though my film is ready. I feel this is the right thing to do in the benefit of all films but the final decision of moving the release date is not confirmed yet. We will however confirm by the end of this week,” Momina said, denying all rumours regarding the film’s incompletion.

As far as the legal matter is concerned, Momina shared, “That has nothing to do with the release of the film. It’s a trivial matter which is being handled by our legal department.”

Written by Farhat Ishtiaq, PHJ has an ensemble cast including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Aamir and Shaz Khan among others.

As for the release of Parwaaz Hai Junoon, the latest developments suggest that we might have to wait a little longer for the film to hit theatres.
