While music producer and guitar superhero Mekaal Hasan’s inclusive new initiative Rivayat Music Series aims to bring live music to overlooked areas of Karachi with four gigs planned in areas like Gulzar-e-Hijri, Paposh Nagar, Sakhi Hasan and Pehlwan Goth, others too have set plans in motion.

One case in point is Ali Zafar who can sing as well as he can dance and act. Embracing both, Zafar is scheduled to take the stage in Dubai later this month (October 27) during an MTV India Unplugged gig. The event is a ticketed one and will take place at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium from 8 pm to 2 am. In addition to Zafar, the event will also see Bollywood actor and singer Ayushmann Khurrana serenading the crowd, which means the gig will be worth spending your money on.

In other live music news, Zoe Viccaji and Rachel Viccaji, who last appeared together in the Strepsils Stereo-backed Acapella project ‘Khayal Rakhna’ alongside Ali Noor, Sara Haider and Ahsan Pervaiz, are going on tour together. Having sung together on Coke Studio in its early years, Zoe has gone onto release a solo album and several compelling music videos. Rachel, meanwhile, has been a part of the Coke Studio backing vocalist team for some time now and also shone brightly in the spotlight recently when she joined Aima Baig and Humera Arshad as featured artist in a Coke Studio track that was produced by Ali Hamza and unveiled in its recently concluded tenth season. While their respective solo careers will continue to grow, both sisters are planning on taking the stage; first in the United States and later in Pakistan.

The news was broken by Zoe on social media where she noted that the US tour will begin on October 20. As part of the tour, the sisters will be hitting Ohio, Austin, St. Louis and Florida.

She further stated: “Stay tuned for our Pakistan dates.”
