Though the band that counts Qurram Hussain and Rup Magon as its members has released several studio albums, rumours that the duo broke up began to surface sometime after they started pursuing solo paths. Magon has starred in a number of films including this year’s The Black Prince while Hussain has been a part of Cornetto Pop Rock and is producing music for an upcoming film called Rangreza. Given these developments and no new material from the band since last summer’s single, ‘Kama’, rumours of a break up have persisted until now. As the band took the stage during the PBOTB finale and performed together they have effectively put all such stories to rest.
In other related news, Hussain has confirmed that he has worked on four songs that will feature on the soundtrack of an upcoming Pakistani film called Rangreza that stars Bilal Ashraf, Urwa Hocane and Gohar Rasheed in lead roles. Speaking about his involvement with the project, Hussain noted in a press statement that he has explored various genres while doing the score. Of the four tunes, the first is a qawwali though not a traditional one. The second song is a romantic tune while the third song is an anthem. The fourth track is also a romantic number but offers the perspective of a woman and therefore varies from other singles.
