Shahzad Kashmir’s upcoming drama serial, Yaqeen Ka Safar has managed a casting coup of sorts by roping in actors Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Shaz Khan and Hira Mani in pivotal roles. The serial, which will make its way to the small screen later this week (April 19), has a social aspect attached to it.
Sajal Aly, who is paired with Ahad Raza Mir in the production, told Instep in an earlier interview that the story follows the journey of girl “who comes from a very conservative family”. Elaborating on her character further, she stated, “It’s a highly positive character; she faces a lot of difficulties in life and finally reaches a point where she helps those in need of justice. She addresses social issues as well.”
Shaz Khan, who plays the role of Hira Mani’s husband, will enact the role of a lawyer while Mir, who made his TV debut with Sammi opposite Mawra Hocane, will play the role of a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.”
The teasers of the play look promising as Aly is playing a character that looks radically different than her past TV incarnations. She’s in love with a guy and does whatever is required to hide it from her family.
Other cast members include Ehteshamuddin, Fazila Qazi, Huma Nawab, Sabiha Sumar and more. Yaqeen Ka Safar is an adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel of the same name.
