Among homegrown films expected to release  soon is the Syra Shehroz-starrer Chalay Thay  Saath that also features Chinese actor Kent S.  Leung in the lead. The film is slated to release  in April this year and has been made with the  aim to put forward a positive image of Pakistan.  “It will come out in April,” Shehroz told Instep  on the sidelines of Balu Mahi’s premiere  that was held in Karachi last week.  Directed by Adil Umer, Chalay Thay Saath is  a light hearted tale that revolves around the intricacies  of relationships and family values. Exploring  universal themes of love, loss and  friendship, it stars Shehroz in the role of Resham,  who is a doctor.  Talking about her role in the film, the actress  informed, “My character’s name is Resham  and she’s a very independent, headstrong,  confident girl. Her role is of a doctor and she  lives her life to the fullest.”  Apart from having onboard a Chinese actor,  who plays Shehroz’s love interest in the film,  Chalay Thay Saath has another unique aspect attached to it. It aims to highlight the strong  ties that Pakistan shares with its neighbouring country, China.  Aside from the lead pair, the film’s cast includes artists such as Mansha Pasha, Zhalay  Sarhadi, Behroz Sabzwari, Shamim Hilaly, Faris Khalid, Osama Tahir and Sherbaaz  Kaleem.  As for Shehroz, besides Chalay Thay Saath, she is also gearing up for another release  this year which is called Project Ghazi in which she is starring alongside Ho Mann Jahaan  star Sheheryar Munawar and acting superstar Humayun Saeed. The project, explains  Shehroz, is vastly different from CTS as it features her in the role of a scientist. “It was supposed  to release in March,” she told Instep. “But I think it’s going to be pushed forward because  there’s a lot of work in the post production.”  For now though, we’re hoping that Chalay Thay Saath lives up to expectations.
