KABUL: A suicide bomber blew himself up in the Afghan capital Kabul on Monday after joining a queue of people waiting to enter an office of the civil order police, killing 10 persons and wounding 20, officials said.

The blast was in the Dehmazang area in the west of the city.

Deputy Interior Minister confirmed the attack, saying that 10 people were killed and 20 others wounded in it.

The city was hit by a series of suicide attacks last month, including one that killed seven journalists from a private television station as the Taliban stepped up their campaign against the Western-backed government.

The attacks coincided with renewed efforts to revive a peace process with the insurgent movement that stalled last year.
