US special forces kill senior IS leader in Syria
Washington: US special forces killed a senior Islamic State group leader and captured his wife in eastern Syria, Pentagon chief Ashton Carter said Friday.
The IS militant, Abu Sayyaf, who helped direct military operations and oil smuggling for the extremist group, "was killed during the course of the operation when he engaged US forces," Carter said in a statement. (AFP)
