Former Indian cricket stalwart Sachin Tendulkar walked down the memory lane on Thursday when he posted a picture of his magical debut during a match from 29 years ago on social media.

Hailed as Master Blaster, Tendulkar made his incredible debut in a Test match against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15.

Revisiting the golden memory from the past, Tendulkar took to his Twitter saying, “"This day, every year, brings back so many memories of the day I first represented India. It was an honour to play for the country and be able to represent India for 24 years.”

Tendulkar had managed to score 15 runs in his debut Test, which eventually led the match to end in a draw. In the Faisalabad match that followed, the then 16-year-old Tendulkar made his first international half-century.

Extending felicitations to Sachin on this day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI) posted:

“On this day. Rewind the clock. 1989 - Sachin made his Test debut. 2013 Walks out to bat for one final time #legend #TeamIndia"

For years that followed, Tendulkar cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with. At 17 years of age, he became the youngest Indian to score a century in Test cricket.

"On This Day in 1989, Sachin Tendulkar and Waqar Younis, aged 16 and 17 respectively, made their Test match debuts against each other in Karachi. Two true legends of the game," the ICC said in a tweet.

He scored a total of  15921 runs in Tests and 18426 runs in ODI cricket. He made an international record of 100 centuries, a feat that is still being chased by some of the bigwigs in the sport.

Tendulkar retired from cricket on the same day in 2013.
