Several fatalities and damages of vehicles have been reported after a pedestrian bridge over a six-lane highway in Miami collapsed on Thursday.
MIAMI: Several fatalities and damages of vehicles have been reported after a pedestrian bridge over a six-lane highway in Miami collapsed on Thursday.
According to details, several people were trapped and number of cars were crushed underneath the collapsed walkway that connects Florida International University to a student housing area. The pedestrian bridge was installed early this month which was not yet in use; it was expected to open next year.
Soon after the incident, emergency services and machinery were called in the area to start the rescue operation, while crane being moved into position where the bridge lay in sections across Southwest Eighth Street.
