It’s not every day that a coach is seen casually knitting throughout a sporting event so when Finnish snowboarding coach, Antti Koskinen casually knitted his way out of his stress through the competition, he set the netizens hooked.
People are more curious to know what exactly is it that Koskinen is knitting. And it has also been revealed that it is not the first time that Koskinen has been found to be doing this in fact, he has been knitting his way throughout the 2014 Sochi winter games too.
Knitting in public may appear odd to some but it is a universal fact that knitting relieves stress and has been opted for by various artists.
In explanation to knitting at Sochi Winter Games in 2014, Koskinen had said that it wasn’t about winning or losing the game, it was about how fast you could knit a scarf while the game lasted.
“Knitting also offers a rare sense of control because you can always undo the mistakes using the same yarn.”
British Journal of Occupational Therapy published a study claiming that there is a “significant relationship between the knitting frequency and feeling calm and happy. Frequent knitters report higher cognitive functioning.”
