213-lbs bagel lands itself in the Guinness World Records
The giant bagel weighed just over 213 pounds including 30 pounds of smoked salmon and 40 pounds of cream cheese.
NEW YORK CITY: Chefs in Brooklyn, New York scored a Guinness record after they successfully cooked the world’s largest bagel and lox sandwich.
The event of cooking the humungous sandwich took place in front of a large crowd at the Acme Smoked Fish warehouse, just in time to celebrate the National Bagel and Lox Day.
The giant bagel weighed just over 213 pounds including 30 pounds of smoked salmon and 40 pounds of cream cheese.
“The companies will follow the rules set forth by the Guinness Book in order to set the record, and the sandwich will be carefully constructed and weighed before it is cut and distributed to the crowd,” informed the press release from Acme.
After the sandwich was weighed, it was sliced and given to everyone in the crowd to savor it bit by bit.
