Winning film-makers to receive cash prizes at film fest in Karachi
KARACHI: Young film makers from Sindh including Karachi are taking part in the biggest film festival being held in Karachi by Media department of Bahria University on 28th December 2017.
The event aims to promote young talent and their films on the themes of culture, tradition, heritage, people, documentary and abstract.
The event provides an encouraging platform to aspiring directors, producers and scriptwriters to showcase their talent, receive feedback and win cash prizes for their efforts and aesthetics.
Top three winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, 15,000 and 5,000 respectively in acknowledgement of their efforts.
Leading directors and producers of the media fraternity will be judging the festival and will award prizes to winners.
Urooj Fatima, lead organizer of the event shares, “We always felt that aspiring film makers receive little to no recognition.”
“Given the fast paced growth of the film industry of Pakistan, young film makers require a platform. For this purpose we have organised this film festival to acknowledge and encourage budding film students.”
The event is open for submissions till 20th December. Aspiring film makers are invited to submit their short films in the categories of Food, Culture, Places, People, Fiction and Documentary.
