LAHORE: Gunmen on Thursday shot dead a local actress in Harbanspura area of the provincial capital, police said.
According to the police, unknown gunmen sprayed Baig’s vehicle with bullets, injuring the stage actress and her driver.
Rescue workers shifted the injured to a local hospital where Qismat Baig succumbed to her injuries in the evening. TV reports said the woman sustained eight bullet wounds in the attack.
The police said motive of the attack was not known but they have launched an investigation after collecting evidence from the crime scene.
